President Gorbachev Meets Lebanon’s Leaders

GCI Founding President Mikhail Gorbachev and GCI President Alexander Likhotal, on a visit to Lebanon, had meeting on 1 February 2010, with the Prime Minister, Mr. Saad Hariri, President Michel Sleiman and Nabih Berri, President of the Parliament.

New Recyclable Poultry Packaging Saves Money & Resources

Global Green USA, Mountaire Farms, and Interstate Container have converted the largest poultry plant in the US to use recyclable, wax-alternative boxes. The change reduces the plants’ greenhouse gas emissions by more than 100,000 tons*, water consumption by millions of gallons annually and assists restaurants in achieving their environmental goals.

UNEP-OCHA
The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Joint Unit has a purpose in dealing with environmental emergencies to mobilize and coordinate international assistance. This assistance can be used in responding to environmental emergencies and helping countries to improve their preparedness to respond to environmental emergencies. The UNEP-OCHA Joint Unit works with affected countries to identify and mitigate acute negative impacts stemming from emergencies, providing independent, impartial advice and practical solutions.
